What is something that would surprise me about you?
I’m deeply passionate about scripture from all faiths and philosophies, as well as classical fiction that explores these themes. My favorite book is East of Eden by John Steinbeck, which sparked my interest in reading the Bible, Torah, Quran, and the Tibetan Book of the Dead, among others. I’m obsessed with anyone who thoughtfully contemplates our place in the world and takes the time to write about it.
What can I expect from your class?
A space to be seen, heard, and celebrated, with the opportunity to honor the vulnerability and commitment it takes for each of us to show up, class after class, for ourselves and each other! Every class allows for us to explore ourselves, together.
What is the most essential part of practice for you?
My practice is always there for me as a steady, neutral presence, free from judgment or expectation. No matter how long I step away from my mat or what life throws my way, it always welcomes me back with open arms. I am deeply grateful for that. Every step we take in life – whether forward or backward – is an integral part of the choreography of our journey.
Sydney is a passionate (and playful) yoga teacher, meditation guide, and Reiki Master with over a decade of experience leading students, both on and off the mat. She believes that showing up for ourselves with compassionate, curious vulnerability is often the hardest – but most important – step toward growth. When we consistently practice this on our mats, we can carry it into all areas of our lives and become a safe space for everyone around us.
Sydney’s decision to deepen her yoga practice first took her to Costa Rica, where she earned her 200-hour YTT certification, and later to the Canary Islands, where she lived, learned, and taught on the property of a volunteer-run hostel, immersing herself in nature and mindful, communal living. She’s even shared about her meditation practice on the Dr. Oz Show!
Currently working toward her personal training and wellness coaching certifications through NASM, Sydney continues to expand her knowledge to offer a well-rounded approach to physical and spiritual wellbeing. Her teaching style is as lighthearted and empowering as she is, and infused with her bubbly energy, love for self-expression, “crazy cat lady” persona, and unique sense of style. Sydney brings warmth, humor, and authenticity to everything she does, inspiring others to embrace their full potential, practice self-compassion, and live with more curiosity and joy.
