What is something that would surprise me about you?
Off the mat, you will often find me practicing Muay Thai, cycling, or dancing. Oh, and I am a really bad cook unless its breakfast.
What can I expect from your class?
A balanced practice that moves at the pace of presence, taking the scenic route to inward exploration. Each time we gather, we will use the breath, meditation, and functional flows to linger in the experiences of play, curiosity, and contemplation. You will learn how to befriend and attune to the uniqueness of your body, enriching your overall self-wisdom and sense of embodiment. My intention is to share an offering that allows for heightened awareness and intimacy. And if nothing else, nourish your mind and body while being in connection with others.
What is the most essential part of practice for you?
“Breathing in, I know I am breathing in.” – Thich Nhat Hanh. Awareness, to me, means to take a seat in the moment wherever you are and receive with humility. It is okay and completely natural to wander away, as long as we remember to return home to the here and now.
My name is Taylor, and I am a hapa (second-generation half Chinese, half white) woman who loves to play in the sandboxes of sound, movement, mindfulness, and embodiment. Deeply inspired by the power of community and gathering, I use my energy to curate spaces for self-actualization in the relational presence of others. Nature and Buddhism are my greatest teachers, medicine, and muse, providing an abundant spring of wisdom that informs how I teach and move through the world. While I am a seeker who enjoys exploring the depths, I value integration and finding ways to bring in levity, humor, and music that speaks to the soul. Yoga has offered me ways to soften the barricades around my heart and sit in darkness long enough to both feel and trust the light. I am on this path to hold space for myself and others to be truly seen in our humanness and to see beyond our humanness.
